[BLOG TOUR] The Riddles of Hillgate (Z & C Mysteries #1) by Zoey & Claire Kane

Title: The Riddles of Hillgate
Author: Zoey Kane & Claire Kane
Series: Z & C Mysteries #1
Source: *Received in exchange for an honest review*

Zoey Kane is known around Riverside for making risky purchases. When her daughter Claire learns a most recent investment is eighty acres on the haunted side of town, she is simply flabbergasted. Amazement takes over the whole community, however, when an old mansion is discovered deep within trees. After the estate is turned into a popular hotel, no one could have expected just how risky this purchase would be.

The Hillgate mansion is full of mystery, history and wonder! As you trek across the eight acres of land, you will come across a wonder locked away from prying eyes and hidden under weeds and unwanted parasites, to reveal a lost antique that will change the community forever. I love the cover, how the mother and daughter are silhouetted adds great mystery and the moonlight showing how a lot of the dangers... begin at night!

Zo is known in the community for making risking purchases and most of the time, not selling them. Now, her purchases are something to laugh about with in the community, especially when she buys eight acres of muddy land, right next to a landfill site. But, who knew that beyond the hills there would be a lost mystery. As Zo and Claire attempt to bring this lost treasure back to life and reveal its secrets to all... there is something stopping them and a mystery to stop them in their tracks.

This is a quick read of which will have you wracking your brain to solve the mysteriously imprinted riddles into priceless treasures. I loved the way in which they transformed the mansion, and the way that when one crowd is scared away an opposite crowd comes bounding through the doors. But also the pure creeiness of the house and then in the attic... AHH! How could they have lived there after that. This just made it even more tragic concerning the early family, but also the motive of it! LOVED IT!

This book is full of mystery and suspense, but also shows how money can drive people apart and the wrong people in. You also get to see a strong and loving relationship between a mother and daughter, and their shared passion for history and the hidden mysteries.

I highly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next one in the series: Cruise to Murder.
And if you have a old, haunted house with an attic... please check it, NOW!
