UK vs US Book Covers #1

This is a way for us to compare the UK and US covers of the same book. Ever since i started Book Blogging, I was interested in how you had different covers for different countries, so I decided to post every SUNDAY a comparison of two covers. You can vote for your favourite in the comments, then on the following SATURDAY the results will be revealed!

Impostor by Susanne Winnacker
Series: Variants #1

Tessa is a Variant with extraordinary abilities. She could be a hero, but all she wants to do is fall in love ...

Tessa is a Variant, able to absorb the DNA of anyone she touches and mimic their appearance. Shunned by her family, she's spent the last two years with the Forces with Extraordinary Abilities, a secret branch of the FBI. There she trains with other Variants, such as long-term crush Alec, who each have their own extraordinary ability.

When a serial killer rocks a small town in Oregon, Tessa is given a mission: she must impersonate Madison, a local teen, to find the killer before he strikes again. Tessa hates everything about being an impostor - the stress, the danger, the deceit - but loves playing the role of a normal girl. As Madison, she finds friends, romance, and the kind of loving family she'd do anything to keep.

Amid action, suspense, and a ticking clock, this super-human comes to a very human conclusion: even a girl who can look like anyone struggles the most with being herself.

The UK and US covers have the same objective: portraying how Tessa is able to change her physical appearance into someone else, but furthermore how you can easily become confused about who you really are.

I personally prefer the UK cover, it is clever and indicate. It includes the cut along her neck alongside the necklace and her eye colour. I feel it sticks closer to the novel than the US cover.

Which one do you prefer?

Comments

  1. I personally like the US cover better because it's more intriguing, plus the font on the UK cover is pretty awful. The UK cover also looks more fantasy than Sci-Fi to me!

  2. I prefer the US cover but that's probably because I've seen it around. :)
I do love that they both emphasize that the eyes are different colors. I haven't read this book but I would think that the whole eye thing is important.
Have I mentioned that I love this feature? Well I do :)

  3. I usually tend to like the UK covers over the US ones. But with Imposter's cover, I have to go with the US. I like the split in her face like it's a puzzle. But I like them both.

Awesome feature! I like getting to see both the US & UK covers side by side.

Thanks for stopping by my STS @ Addicted Readers! :)
