A refreshingly unique novel, that will pull you into a new, intricately built world which you will not be able to help but be addicted to! This cover, I mean, there are no words. Simply beautiful!

Marguerites Mother and Father are well-known, well-respected scientists, who have invented the Firebird, a device which allows its wearer to travel to parallel universes. However, when Marguerite's father dies suddenly, she goes on a hunt to find his killer. Yet what she doesn't expect is the secrets that are soon unravelled.

The characters of this novel, they were strong and did what they had to do. They were not afraid to step into the unknown to help one-another. Marguerite was an intriguing protagonist. She was strong and loving, whilst not being afraid to be who she really was. I think the main aspect that dropped part of the star was the romance. Going into this novel I knew there was a love triangle, however having read Gray's previous series which too had a love triangle that I thoroughly enjoyed, I was more than happy to give it a go. But to be honest, it felt more like a love square. It was that one particular scene that had me rather confused as to why she would do it (you will know which scene I mean if you have read it! :0) ) and I think it really added an air of confusion and pause to the romance in the novel. However, apart from that, the romance was slow and sweet!

The plot of this novel. That is what really made A Thousand Pieces of You stand out from so many of the books I have read this year. It was fast-paced, intricate, and yet explained simply that the reader is able to easily understand what is going on, because it could have easily become confusing. It is such a refreshing plot, unlike anything I have read before, you were transported to completely different worlds that certainly tested your emotions. I loved the maths (my favourite subject!) and physics blended into the chapters, giving it a realistic atmosphere but explained simply enough; you were given the exact information that was needed, without it becoming too much. I believe the only thing that lost A Thousand Pieces of You that last half star was that the culprit was very predictable, I would have liked to have been more 'WOWED!'. But then, those twists, I mean, I was shocked and not expecting it at all.

Overall an incredibly unique and magical journey, that at times can be sad, however will certainly will have you craving the sequel Ten Thousand Skies Above You. And just look at its cover!
