WAITING ON WEDNESDAY (#2)
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating!
Red by Alison Cherry:
Felicity St. John has it all - loyal best friends, a hot guy, and artistic talent. And she's right on track to win Miss Scarlet pageant. Her perfect life is possible because of just one thing: her long, wavy, coppery red hair.
Having red hair is all that matters in Scarletville. Redheads hold all the power - and everybody knows it. That's why Felicity is scared down to her roots when she receives and anonymous note:
I know your secret.
Because Felicity is a big fake. Her hair colour comes straight out of a bottle. And is anyone discovered the truth, she'd be a social outcast faster than she could say "strawberry blond." Her mother would disown her, her friends would shun her, and her boyfriend would dump her. And forget about winning that pageant crown and the prize money that comes with it - money that would allow her to fulfil her dream of going to art school.
Felicity isn't about to let someone blackmail her life away. But just how far os she willing to go to protect her red cred?

Okay, you're blog creeps me out, yet I can't look away! You definitely score points for creativity and keeping my attention :) Thank you so much for stopping by my WOW and following! I'm following you on Bloglovin' :)
ReplyDeleteI am so on the fence about this book. On the one hand, I'm a huge contemporary fan. This time of year, especially, I just can't seem to get enough. But I feel like this would make me want to throw my book across the room. I don't like superficial people and this seems to be reeking of it. However! If Felicity learns a big lesson about this and grows as a character, count me in! So you can see my dilemma here. I think I'll probably end up reading it :)
Hehe, thank you! I'm very glad I caught your attention with the background, I fell in love with it immediately.
DeleteI can definitely see your dilemma, but I think it is worth a go! I also can't wait to see who is behind the blackmailing.
Thank you very much for stopping by :0)
I've seen this one before and I think it could be a lot of fun! Definitely takes a somewhat different approach compared to many other contemporaries out there.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by! Love your blog's creepy design :D
