I have 15 minutes to save my mother’s life….

15 minutes is all the Rewind Agency gives you in the past, but for Lara Crane it’s enough time to race through the city, find her mother, and stop her from being killed in a mugging that happened over ten years ago.

But that’s not how it happened. The story she’s been told all her life is a lie and when Lara takes a bullet meant for her mother, her future changes forever.

The love of her life acts like a stranger. Her simple life is replaced with a giant house, glamorous clothes and a new boyfriend.

Except someone knows her secret. And he will try to stop her at every turn as she races against the clock to unravel a dangerous conspiracy.

15 Minutes is an edgy high octane YA thriller that can be described as Back to the Future meets Inception where the people Lara trusts change in an instant. She is in a timeline she doesn't understand, and is about to make one fatal mistake as she faces an enemy so familiar, he’s family.
When I first read the summary of this book, I was instantly begging for more. I love a story with time travel, I find it always makes a story more gripping, page-turning and on many occasions... have a danger of no return. I love the cover, there is a lot of essence of time being pronounced, the colours are toned down as if the times she has entered have blended together to create the same world. I also like the aspect of the necklace, of which you later find out plays a very important role.

Lara Crane has always wanted her mother, from the moment she left this world Lara has wanted her family to be reunited. It isn't because she doesn't love her dad, because she really does. It isn't because she doesn't have the sweetest and most loving boyfriend in the world because... she does. Its the fact that she feels guilty for her mothers death but also that she was never able to grow up with her and that if there is a way for her to turn back the clocks and keep her mother alive, she will. But, the rules from the agency are clear, you can only see... not touch. But, Lara has a special gift. But who knew that gift would result in her whole life being zapped away from her in a click of your fingers, and her world being catapulted into a different life. Literally.

Lara is a very likeable character. She is persistent, kind, loving and a very friendly character. She never gives up on her hopes and dreams no matter what the consequences and seems to adapt to her new life with maturity and a sense of willingness to do anything it takes for her family to be together again, with or without her.  I also felt the way in which she dealt with Donovan deserved a round of applause (*claps hands enthusiastically*) she didn't push him away at the first hurdle, she stuck with it so she did not alert that anything strange and different has occurred  and you began to really see the connection between them.

The way in which this book is written is truly amazing. Not once did I feel as if I could not cope with the information and questions we were shoved into, we were also given all the information at the same time as Lara, which makes you feel closer to the protagonist as you are essentially working out the mystery together. You also come to realise that sentences of which you read in the beginning half of the story, can firstly appear to be just part of the progression, but later turn out to be little clues and hints delicately inserted with precision which point you in another direction. The twists and turns in this book are enough to make you dizzy, but in a thrilling and dangerous way. Also, the detail that went into the process of time travelling and the way in which particular characters are linked into the company and her mums murder, all make you suspect everyone for a variety of reasons.

This book is a world wind of adventure that will persuade you that going back in time can change your life forever in ways you could never imagine. It will also have you wishing the secrets some have taken to the grave with them, should never rise from the dead... even if they are family.

This book is full of danger, suspense (as in on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense) and the persistence of a girl to bring down those in the wrong to justice. Even if it means risking her own life and existence.

The freight train of memory is back to make its run through my brain.
I ask the question a million times in a million different ways but always come up with the same answer. I wrote it in the future. And brought it back into the past.
